Free Commercial boiler and heating Quotes

Request up to 4 no-obligation quotes, subject to local availability.

Get quotations for your commercial heating job

Tell us where the premises are and what needs doing. A boiler replacement for an office, a service for a school and a repair to a shop's heating all need different information, so choose the closest service and describe the equipment you have.

One free enquiry can be matched with up to four independent firms. Each responding contractor assesses the job and quotes directly. Suitable firms may be busy or unavailable, so there may be fewer replies or no match. Ask about diagnostic or survey charges before booking; the free enquiry does not cover paid site visits.

Engineer measuring a pipe route during an office plant room survey

How it works

  1. Choose the service, then add the site postcode, your contact details and the type of premises.
  2. Describe the existing boilers, how the building is used and what you need — a fix, new plant, a service or a maintenance contract.
  3. Responding contractors may call to clarify access and paperwork, then book a survey where the job needs one.
  4. Compare the written proposals and appoint a contractor only when the scope, programme and terms are clear.

Indicative UK costs

These ranges are for early budgeting only. Commercial heating prices depend heavily on boiler output, the number of boilers, plant room access, flue height and whether work must be done out of hours. Use them to sense-check proposals, not as a substitute for a site survey.

Indicative UK commercial heating costs — confirm scope and VAT in your written quote
ServiceGuide rangeWhat moves the price
Commercial Boiler Installation£8,000–£50,000Total output, number of boilers, new flue and gas supply, plant room build-out.
Commercial Boiler Replacement£6,000–£40,000Strip-out and lifting, flue liner or new flue, header and pump changes, temporary heat.
Commercial Boiler Repairs£150–£2,500Call-out time, out-of-hours rates, part prices — heat exchangers and burners sit at the top.
Commercial Boiler Servicing£180–£800Boiler type and service scope; confirm per-boiler or combined-visit pricing. Large cascades can exceed this range.
Commercial Heating System Installation£12,000–£100,000Floor area, emitter type, pipework runs, zoning and BMS, working around occupants.
Commercial Heating Maintenance£450–£4,500 per yearVisit frequency, plant inventory, response-time commitments, parts inclusion.
Initial diagnostic attendance£150–£300Initial assessment in normal working hours; parts, extra labour and emergency premiums may be additional.
Additional boiler on a shared service visit£150–£400 per boilerA smaller accessible wall-hung unit; large forced-draught appliances need separate pricing.

The six main service ranges are this site's broad budgeting guides, not national averages or upper limits. Installation and replacement figures cover boiler plant rather than a complete distribution system. Maintenance is an annual allowance for a modest site, not per visit. Repair prices may cover attendance and repair together; do not add a diagnostic charge again if it is already included.

Published contractor rates illustrate the variation: Neos Engineering advertises per-boiler servicing rates and Robinsons publishes a starting emergency attendance rate. For plant projects, Robinsons publishes cascade installation examples, while First Gas gives replacement budgeting examples. These cover different sizes and scopes; your written quotation must define the equipment and work covered.

Prices quoted to businesses are usually shown excluding VAT. Check whether each figure includes VAT, out-of-hours premiums, crane or lifting equipment, builder's work such as wall openings and plinths, waste disposal and commissioning documentation.

What to put in your enquiry

  • The type of premises, approximate floor area and the hours the building is occupied.
  • Boiler make, model, output and age from the data plate, and how many boilers are in the plant room.
  • Where the plant room is — basement, roof, ground floor or a detached boiler house — and how equipment gets in.
  • Any fault codes, lockout history and recent engineer reports.
  • Whether you have a current gas safety record, service logbook and water treatment records.
  • Time constraints: term dates, trading hours, tenants' rights of access or a target completion date.
  • Who approves the order — you, a landlord, a board, or a funding body with its own procurement rules.

Checking the contractor

For gas work in offices, shops, schools and similar premises, check the attending engineer on the Gas Safe Register. Their current qualifications must cover the fuel, appliance and work involved; domestic registration alone does not cover non-domestic appliances. Some industrial premises fall under different provisions: the HSE guidance for employers explains where a competent person is required. Ask the contractor to confirm which rules apply to your building. Water-side work and controls also need appropriate competence, but do not all require gas registration.

For new or replacement plant, ask who checks building regulations and flue permissions. Approved Document L covers energy requirements in England; the other UK nations have their own rules.

Gas emergencies

This quotation service cannot arrange an emergency response. If you suspect a gas leak, move people away, turn off the supply only if safe and call 0800 111 999 for natural gas in Great Britain. In Northern Ireland, call the gas emergency line on 0800 002 001. For LPG, contact your supplier. Phoenix Energy explains the Northern Ireland gas emergency procedure. Do not use a boiler suspected to be unsafe; if a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, leave the building and seek urgent advice.

Frequently asked questions

Will I definitely receive four quotes?

No. We can look for up to four independent contractors, but the number who respond depends on availability, the site location and how specialised the work is. Sometimes there may be fewer replies or none.

Can I enquire on behalf of a landlord or client?

Yes. Managing agents and facilities managers can enquire for a client, but say so in the enquiry and make sure you have authority to arrange site visits and share contact details.

Do I have to accept any of the quotes?

No. You can ask questions, request revised proposals or decline them all. Any contract for work is made directly between you and the contractor you appoint.

Are site surveys free?

The enquiry is free, but some contractors charge for detailed surveys or fault-finding visits. Agree any fee, and what you receive for it, before the visit.
