Find commercial heating enquiries that fit your team

Business Boilers receives requests from people responsible for UK shops, offices, schools and other business premises. Through Leads Do Work, you can review opportunities for boiler installation, replacement, repairs, servicing, complete heating installations and planned maintenance. A lead gives you a customer to speak to and a job to assess; winning an order still depends on your proposal and the customer's decision.

Set up an account that reflects your competence

Create a free contractor account at Leads Do Work and complete the business profile with contact details, insurance, references and qualifications. Select the commercial work your engineers are qualified and equipped to deliver. A firm with non-domestic gas categories but no capacity for multi-week installations may prefer servicing, repairs and maintenance enquiries; a mechanical contractor with design resource may focus on plant replacement and full heating installations.

  • Boiler installation: new cascades and modular plant, plant room design, flues, gas supply and commissioning.
  • Boiler replacement: strip-out of sectional and atmospheric boilers, lifting plans, condensing conversions and temporary heating.
  • Repairs: lockouts, burner and gas valve faults, pressurisation units, pumps and plant controls.
  • Servicing: combustion analysis, safety device testing and non-domestic gas safety records.
  • Heating installation: heat loss design, LTHW distribution, emitters, zoning and BMS integration.
  • Maintenance: PPM schedules, logbooks, water treatment oversight and reactive response commitments.

For gas work in offices, shops, schools and similar premises, check the attending engineer on the Gas Safe Register. Their current qualifications must cover the fuel, appliance and work involved; domestic registration alone does not cover non-domestic appliances. Some industrial premises fall under different provisions: the HSE guidance for employers explains where a competent person is required. Ask the contractor to confirm which rules apply to your building. Water-side work and controls also need appropriate competence, but do not all require gas registration.

Choose an area your team can service

Commercial work often means repeat attendance — survey, installation, commissioning, then servicing and callouts for years afterwards. Set coverage around the distance your engineers can reach within your promised response times, not just how far you are willing to drive for a one-off survey. Update service and area preferences as engineers join or leave.

Browse before you buy

Create a free account to review available enquiries and the purchase options shown for your business. If lead packs of 5, 10 or 20 are offered, choose an amount you can follow up properly: five can help trial a new coverage area, ten can suit a team with survey capacity, and twenty needs enough office support to prepare and chase proposals. Check the current pack availability, prices, sharing arrangements and terms in your account before paying.

Match your lead buying to the number of surveys and proposals you can turn around. Commercial quotes take longer to prepare than domestic ones, and a backlog of unanswered enquiries helps nobody. Availability depends on demand in the services and areas you select, and no purchase guarantees orders or a particular return.

Manage enquiries from site

Download Leads Do Work from the Apple App Store or get the app on Google Play to view and follow up enquiries between plant room visits.

Respond while the site details are still fresh

Call within your working hours, introduce the firm and explain why you are contacting the customer. If they cannot talk, agree a time rather than repeatedly calling. Send a short follow-up stating any survey charge, the documents you need and who will attend. Log the enquiry, visit and quote deadline so a request from a school bursar does not disappear between repair calls.

Questions that qualify a commercial enquiry

Ask what the building is used for, its occupied hours and who the decision-maker is — an owner-occupier can often order within days, while a school, charity or public body may need several quotes and a formal approval. Request the boiler data plate details, the number of boilers, the plant room location and access route, and any recent service reports or condemned-appliance notices.

For repairs, establish the fault history and whether the site has any heat at all. For replacements and installations, ask about target dates, budget approval, available gas supply and whether temporary heating will be needed. For maintenance contracts, ask for a plant inventory and the response times the client expects.

Write a proposal that survives comparison

List plant by make, model and output; flue, gas and water treatment work; controls and BMS scope; commissioning, documentation and training; and any builder's work, lifting or out-of-hours premiums. State exclusions, assumptions, programme, payment stages, VAT and the validity period. Clients compare line by line, and a vague lump sum is easy to set aside.

Shared enquiries, direct contracts

An enquiry may be matched with up to four businesses, so leads are not exclusive. You set your own prices and contract directly with the customer. Conversion depends on suitability, response time and the client's decision; no number of orders is promised.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need commercial gas categories to take these leads?

For gas work within Gas Safe registration requirements, the attending engineer needs the matching fuel and non-domestic appliance categories. Industrial exemptions have separate competence requirements. Only select work your team is qualified to carry out.

Are leads exclusive to my business?

No. A customer enquiry may be shared with up to four businesses, and the customer may choose another contractor or decide not to proceed.

Can I limit leads to certain services and areas?

Yes. Service and coverage preferences help match relevant enquiries. Keep them in line with your engineers' qualifications and the response times you can meet.

Which lead packs are available?

Check your account for the current purchase options. Where packs of 5, 10 or 20 leads are offered, choose according to your survey capacity and read the prices and terms before buying.
